Where is seagrass found?
In sheltered, shallow waters along the coast
Hold soft sediments that would otherwise be washed away by currents or tides.
What is the importance of seagrass?
Provide habitat for algae and animals
Feed herbivores
Dead seagrass material feeds lots of additional animals.
