Q

How do seagrasses pollinate?

A

Males produce pollen gains, and those clumps move with the current until they land on female flowers. Some species are pollinated by amphibious and polychaetes, kind of like bees.

Q

What does the Shannon index tell us?

Q

What is the Simpson index?

A

Takes into account richness and evenness, but emphasizes dominance and is less sensitive to rare species. Measures the probability that two randomly selected induviduals will belong to the same speices. Ranges from 0 - 1, with 0 being diverse and 1 being not diverse.
