painless mass in scrotum which transluminates
What is phimosis
foreskin is unable to be retracted over the glans of penis (normal in babies)
leading to a chronic low grade infection
What is the presenting symptom of diabetes
phimosis
What is paraphimosis
foreskin gets trapped in retracted position and becomes edematous
What is a congenital hydrocele
collection of fluid in scrotum between laters of tunica vaginalis
*can be isolated or communicating
What is a varicocele
varicosities within the pampiniform plexus of scrotal veins
*bag of worms
Which scrotum tends to have varicoceles more commonly

Are varicoceles reversible
in adolescents
How do you treat varicoceles
rarely treated unless fertility is a concern… then surgery is required (surgical ligation of veins)
What is a spermatocele
abnormal cyst that develops in epididymis, separate from testes above upper pole
*generally painless
What treatment can be done for spermatocele
aspiration
sclerotherapy
spermatocelectomy
What is epididymitis
inflammation of epididymus usually with inflammation of testes
typically unilateral

generally from sexual activity (ascending STI)
