Groups do publicity stunts or go on TV, radio or news to her public attention or even get a celebrity involved with their cause to help

Emma Watson is a campaign speaker for “HeForShe” and they normally do very well and get their cause heard
Why insider groups are more successful?
They have expertise in a area to help with changing laws for the better to help public demand and the government more likely listen to them than outsider groups who are violent and irrational
Example of insider groups being for successful
BMA were a group the government went to in order to help with the 2016 minimum price on alcohol.
How petitions make pressure groups more successful?
As they are often seen as an outdated way of getting things done and some parties forget it don’t use them. However they are very effective as they show public support and if politics ignored them they are less likely to be re-elected - showing petitions power.
Example of petitions being a successful for pressure groups
The 2006 ban on smoking in public places came from school pupils in Edinburgh from a e-petition.
