Episcleritis vs scleritis

A

Episcleritis -Reddish , vasoconstrictor test on using 2.5% phenylephrine reddness disappears—blanching, tenderness, idiopathic

Sclera proper p -scleritis violet purpleish, no blanching, no tenderness, commonly associated with systemic manifestation like rheumatoid arthritis

There are 3 layers of sclera
Episclera
Sclera proper
Lamina fusca
