Scientific Understandings Of Outdoor Environments Flashcards
Biotic and Abiotic, what’s the difference?
Abiotic is non-living things and Biotic is living
What are the four spheres?
- Lithosphere
- Atmosphere
- hydrosphere
- biosphere
What is Lithosphere?
the rigid outer part of the earth, consisting of the crust and upper mantle.
What is atmosphere?
the envelope of gases surrounding the earth
What is hydrosphere?
all the waters on the earth’s surface
What is biosphere?
The place on earth where all life dwells
What’s the difference between food webs and food chains?
Food chains are simplified versions of food webs
What are producers?
They’re are the bottom of the food chain, they are plants and what the primary consumer eats
What are consumers?
There are two types of consumers, primary and secondary, the primary consumer eats stuff like plants while the secondary consumer eats the primary consumer.
How does a simple food chain go?
Producer-primary consumer-secondary consumer- Tertiary
What the role of decomposer?
To break down dead animals which give nutrients to the producer
What would be the consequence of removing a component from a ecosystem?
Depending of what it was, if there was something that ate it then it will eventually starve and die as well as anything that eats that
