Science Term one Flashcards
what is the order of the plants in the solar system?
Mercury,
venus,
Earth,
Mars.
Jupiter,
Saturn,
Uranus,
Neptune
what is the largest planet?
what is the smallest planet?
what are the two closest planets to Earth?
what planets have moons?
what planets do not have moons?
the largest planet is Jupiter
the smallest planet is Mercury
the two closest planets to Earth are Venus and Mars
the planets with moons are Earth and Mars and Jupiter and Saturn and Uranus and Neptune.
the planets without moons are Mercury, Venus
why is Ploto not in the solar system?
this is because one it is too small and 2 the main reason is that it overlaps Neptune’s orbit.
what are 3 reasons that the sun is important?
the sun hold the planets in place with it gravitational pull
the next reason is that it gives us light to see and gives us power.
it provides animals and plants and people and everything on earth life
what is the difference between the moon phases?
crescent moons are small
gibbous moons are large
waning moons are decreasing
a waxing moon is increasing
tidal force is what?
this is the amout of gravity that is exerted and or applied to an object.
for example the moon exerts a tidal force on the water on the earth.
what are high tide and low tide?
how many high and or low tides in a day?
high tide is the moon’s gravity has the most pull, water levels rise in a high tide
low tide is the moon’s gravity has the least pull. water levels drop in a low tide.
there are 2 high tides and 2 low tides in a day. that means that there is one tide every 6 hours.
what is tidal locking?
