what does adaption mean?
an adaptation is a feature of the body/organism which helps it to survive.
what does habitat mean?
a habitat is a place where an animal or plant lives/operates/belongs and where it has adapted to live. Its home where it gets food.
what is the definition of environment?
an environment is the surroundings or conditions in which a living thing lives/operates and everything around it that affects its way of life.
name 4 features of a predator
You could have had - camouflage good sensory organs speed agility muscular teamwork sharp claws and teeth venom
name 4 features of a prey
You could have had - good sensory organs lives in groups nocturnal generally smaller than predator eyes on side of head warm coat
true or false: interdependence is when food chains are linked in a food web
if false, why? what is interdependence?
False - interdependence is the fact that the population of a predator/prey can affect each others population. E.g. foxes eat rabbits. If the fox population drops, the rabbit population will rise.
what is a food web? what is a food chain?
- a food chain is a chains that tells you what gets eaten by what.
- a food web is when the food chains are joined together because most animals eat more than one type of food meaning that these animals can be in more than one food chain.
what do the arrows in a food chain mean?
the arrows tell us where the energy flow is being directed/where the energy is going.

underwater - dolphins, pufferfish, starfish
woodland - deer, hedgehog, birds
desert - camels, scorpions, snakes

an animal that eats primary consumers
