What is the umbra?
The darkest part of a shadow
What are eclipses?
A shadow
What is the penumbra?
A partial shadow that appears when light from part of the shadow is blocked and light from another part of the source filters through.
What is a lunar eclipse?
When the moon passes behind the earth into earths shadow
What is a solar eclipse?
When the moon passes between the sun, earth and moon, block out the suns light.
What is waxing?
When the lighted side gets bigger.
What is waning?
When the lighted side gets smaller
What is a spring tide?
When the sun, moon and earth line up especially high and low tides
What are neap tides?
When the moon is at at right angles to the sun the tides aren’t as dramatically high and low.
