Science Cells Flashcards
What is the difference between unicellular and multicellular?
Unicellular is made up of only one type of cell whereas multicellular is made up of many different cells.
Why do biologists classify living things?
This is so then the animals are easier to identify and classify. An example of this would be for animals with backbone only relate to a number of animals falling under this group but not the others.
An example of how structure can be important in classifying animals?
An example of this would be warm blooded and cold blooded. This would help classify different animals.
Difference between vertebrates and invertebrates.
Invertebrates don’t have a backbone whereas vertebrates do.
Difference between the five kingdoms.
The monera kingdom is made up of organisms that are unicellular (only have one type of cell). The protist kingdom is also unicellular but have a nucleus. The fungi kingdom is made up of organisms that cannot be thought of as animals or plants. Fungi can’t actually make their own food. The plant kingdom, this kingdom contains plants, they make their own food and only need sunlight, water and dirt to survive. The animal kingdom contains animals that feed off other organisms for food.
