- Hip flexors (hip must ext beyond neutral)
- Gastrocs 7-10 degrees DF
- Pt must perform at least 30 does in parallel bars with legs supported
4
Q
Can you do KAFO training for cervical level injuries?
A
Probably not because you need strong UEs
5
Q
What is the goal of KAFO training
A
- could be standing or household ambulation or community ambulation
- more likely standing and household ambulation for upper thoracic injuries
- possibly community ambulation for lower thoracic and lumbar level injuries, but unlikely in KAFOs given inefficiency of gait with locked knee joints
