school based OT service delivery models Flashcards
prevention
providing intervention before the child develops difficulty in the classroom
integrated
An integrated service delivery model allows for the practitioner to provide intervention in the child’s natural classroom environment and allows the practitioner to also instruct staff members to meet the child’s outcomes.
pull-out
Pull-out services remove the child from the classroom setting and should only be used if the child is working on a skill at a level far below classroom peers or when the intervention that is being provided is distracting to others in the classroom.
consultative
Consultation may focus on implementing a specific program for a student or educating the teacher to enhance knowledge and skills to facilitate the child’s performance in class.
