What is a delusion?
A false belief that cannot be explained by culture/education nor cannot be convinced out of despite evidence.
What are the (5) types of delusions?
(1) Erotomanic
(2) Grandiose
(3) Jealous
(4) Persecutory
(5) Somatic
What is an erotomanic delusion?
When someone (often of higher social status) is in love with the patient.
What is a grandiose delusion?
When someone has the conviction they have made an important discovery, or have great talent or insight. This one can have a religious context.
What is a jealous delusion?
When someone believes their partner is being unfaithful.
What is a persecutory delusion?
When someone is being followed, cheated, spied on, conspired against, poisoned, or interfered with.
What is a somatic delusion?
When someone has bodily functions or sensations. The most common one is they think they emit a foul odor.
What are hallucinations?
Perception-like experiences that occur without external stimulus. They can occur in any sensory, but auditory are most common with schizophrenia.

(1) Alogia (poverty of speech)
(2) Autism

Portland Identification and Early Referral Program that identifies and treats youths at high risk of an initial psychotic episode through community outreach.
What is the best treatment for a psychotic diagnosis in outpatient?
Early assessment, referral and intervention from access to well-trained specialists using empirically tested methods.
