Explain how Gottesman (1991) support the genetic basis of schizophrenia.

Gottesman (1991) shows that as genetic similarity increases so does the risk for developing schizophrenia. For example: One of the fraternal twins would have a 17% risk of developing schizophrenia if their other twin had schizophrenia and then with identical twins the risk increase to 48% clearly showing a genetic influence.
