Criteria
A
Disturbance of 6 months or more with 1 month or more of 2 **or more **active-phase symptoms ****(delusions, hallucinations, disorganizaed speech, grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior) and or negative symptoms (restriction in the range and intensity of emotions and other functions and include affective flattening, alogia (poverty of thought and speech) and avolition (restricted initiation of goal-directed behviour). Requires evidence of impairment in one of the major areas of functioning.

Subtypes
A
- **Catatonic: **Motor activity (immobility, purposless, rigid, echolalia or echopraxia)
- **Disorganized: **Disorganized speech, behavior and flat or innapropiate affect.
- **Paranoid: **preoccupied with one or more systemazied delusions.
- Undifferentiated: No other subtype is met.
- **Residual: **Not displaying behaviors but has had it in the past and only exhibits negative symptoms
