Hallucinations can happen with all the 5 senses; so tactile, auditory, hearing, smelling and tasting
how can we diagnose schizophrenia
to diagnose schizophrenia we need to have rather DSM V (5) or ICD 10 as diagnosis tools.
what do you need to diagnose someone with schizophrenia using DSM V ?
we need to see a positive symptom
what do you need to diagnose someone with schizophrenia using ICD 10 ?
we need to see two negative symptoms
what does ICD 10 do that DSM V does not
ICD 10 states that there are more than one type of schizophrenia such as paranoid, catatonic and hebephrenic
what is catatonic schizophrenia
this is when people freeze and do not move
what is hebephrenic schizophrenia
this is when you feel things
what is a weakness to schizophrenia
The diagnosis method has very low validity as the two different books give different diagnosis and do not work the same
talk about Cheneaux et al (2009)
in this study two psychiatrists used both DSM V and ICD 10 to diagnose 100 people
what were the results of people diagnosed with schizophrenia by the first psychologists with both of the books
DSM V- 26
ICD 10 - 44
what were the results of people diagnosed with schizophrenia by the second psychologists with both of the books
DSM V- 13
ICD 10- 24
what are the study’s validity and reliability
the study has low inter-rater reliability and low validity
what is citation validity
is when we ask ourselves if the assessments arrive at the same diagnosis by the same person
