ground plans
floor plan of stage design that outlines the various levels on the stage and indicates the placement of scenery, furniture, doors, windows and other necessary scenic elementsedge (of lumber)- the narrower side of a piece of lumber
platforms
a stationary walking surface for actors to perform on, often built to be assembled modularly, and often provide levels on stage
plys
a thin layer of wood which is glued and pressed together with the direction of the grain alternating to form plywood
presentation/exhibition model
a completed model which should look identical to the finished set on stage
renderings
an illustration showing how a design concept will look when built or painted
sections
show a view of a structure as though it has been sliced in half or cut along another imaginary plane
sheet goods
sheets or penels of wood, composites or other materials that typically come in 4’x8’ sections
sight lines
imaginary lines between the audience’s eyes and the stage
