Romeo is in a sad mood, he doesn’t want to have fun at the party, he just wants to go to the party and hold the candle.
How do the boys plan to disguise themselves at the party?
With masks it’s a masquerade.
Who is Queen Mab? What is she responsible for? Name three things Mercutio says she does when they are asleep.
Queen Mab is the fairies’ midwife, she controls your dreams. Mercutio says she makes lovers dream of love, soldiers dream of becoming a hero and lawyers of money.
What problem does Romeo mention immediately before the boys enter the party? What does Romeo decide to do about this? Why is it important?
Romeo said he had a bad dream and he was scared that something bad was going to happen if he entered the party. He does nothing, he just goes into the party. It foreshadows his death and it also uses dramatic irony because we know he will die.
