Scene Eight (2): The Spring Flashcards
ANGUS: Don’t look.
Is he… dead?
CONSTABLE JOE: Step away from the child!
I’m okay, Constable Joe.
CONSTABLE JOE: I’ll be asking the questions here, starting with: Who’s responsible for this?
It was m -
MILES: No, it wouldn’t.
It’s not true. I hit him. With this.
CONSTABLE JOE: You two: take this man out of the child’s view. You’re safe now, Winnie. Could you tell me the real story of what’s gone on here?

CONSTABLE JOE: I’m thinking. I’m done. I believe you.

CONSTABLE JOE: Now, who’s the Swiss Family Robinson?

MAE: Wait. Winnie, I know I owe your mother an apology - but all I really want to do it congratulate her.
For what?
MAE: Raising you. Here. To remember us by.
I could never forget you. You just saved my life.
ANGUS: You reminded us that we’ve still got something to live for. Goodbye, Winnie.
Goodbye, Angus.
MILES: Really. I was hoping we could walk together.
WINNIE: Hug him.
JESSE: It’s all up to you now. Hide it somewhere good. Drink it when you’re seventeen, and then find me. I’ll leave directions somehow - and I’ll be planning great adventures for us.
So will I.
HUGO: Ready, Winnie?
Ready, Hugo. Think of me every time you climb a tree… or get in trouble.
