Pros: flexibility in adapting production, fast response to market trends, lower unit cost.
Cons: frequent changes in production can cause costly re-tooling.
What is mass production ?
Mass production used efficient automated manufacturing processes and a largely unskilled workforce for most consumer products.
What are the pros and cons of mass production ?
Pros: highly automated and efficient manufacturing processes, low unit, reduced labour cost.
Cons: high initial set up cost, inflexible.
Why is continuous production used ?
It is used to manufacture standardised mass produced products that meet everyday mass market demand.
What are the pros and cons of continuous production ?
Pros: extremely low unit cos, 24/7
Cons: very little flexibility.
