stimulates anterior pirtuitary gland to secret DHEA
DHEA converts into oestrogen. high levels of oestrogen causes upregulation of oxcytocin receptors

A

when head is crowning apply pressure to the head to slow birth. Encourage panting or breathing through the contractions to also prevent a fast birth.
The baby restitues. going from facing mums spine to facings mums right side
Support the head and apply gentle axial traction
Anterior should will be delivered
axial traction changes to gentle upwards traction delivering the posterior shoulder
skin to skin contact encourage breast feeding
