Q

Explain the function of synapses.

A

Synpase is a small gap between neurones across which a nerve impulse is transmitted via neurotransmitters

Q

Explain action of synapses

A

Nerve impulse reach presynapatic neurones. Trigger release of neurotransmitters, diffuse across synapse, bind to receptors on postsynaptic neurone, stimulates an impulse in postsynaptic neurone

Q

Explain how the structure of the reflex arc allows a faster response.

A

Most reflexes don’t have to travel up to your brain to be processed, which is why they take place so quickly.
