Q

What is cancer

A

Uncontrolled cell division=tumour. If the tumour invades the surrounding tissue then it’s called cancer.

All due to a mutation to the gene

Q

Explain how growth in animals occurs and changes throughout life

A
Cell division(mitosis)
When young=rapid growth =lots of cell division

When old most cell division is for repair.
This also means that cell differentiation is lost at an early stage

Q

What happens in interphase

A

DNA is spread out in long strings
Increase in subcellular organisms
Duplicates DNA (1 for each new cell)
DNA is copied and forms x chromo..
