How is sarcopenia diagnosed?
A
First the 4m walking speed test.
If speed >0.8m/s then do hand grip test, diagnose if this is reduced
If speed <0.8m/s then measure muscle mass with DEXA and diagnose if this is reduced

Ensure adequate nutrition

What are the complications of sarcopenia?

Inability to do ADLs
Loss of independence
Decreased quality of life
