A

Involves in computer based chosen people eg the nth person in a list
Adv-selection is not biased
Disadv- some people may refuse to take part - smaller sample
May end up with a sample dominated with males/ females

A

Choose a random member of the target population - everyone has an equal chance of being selected
They can be selected by putting names of the whole population in a hat
Adv-no praised and not everyone will support their hypothesis
Disadv-participants may refuse to take place , may have small sample -time consuming
- could consist of mainly males or females

Makes sure the sample is reflective of the target audience
They select a certain percentage of people with the same identification eg gender , age
Adv- more representative as each sector of the target population can be applied to wider population
