Describe the stages of conducting content analysis

A
  1. Gather data
  2. Familiarise yourself with the data
  3. Identify categories of behaviour/ events
    4.tally how many times each event occurs
    5 count up each category and form conclusions
    6 establish an inter-rather reliability

What are the positive evaluations

A

Real Artifacts are used increasing internal validity
Easy to get a sample of artifacta
Generalisable

What’s a negative evaluation

A

Subjective interpretations and observer bias
Someone can interpret a text to match their own pre-existing views
Data isn’t created in controlled environments
May be some inaccuracies - leading to a decrease in internal validity
