An indirect observational method used to analyse human behaviour investigating through human artifacts

A
- Gather data
- Familiarise yourself with the data
- Identify categories of behaviour/ events

A
Subjective interpretations and observer bias
Someone can interpret a text to match their own pre-existing views
Data isn’t created in controlled environments
May be some inaccuracies - leading to a decrease in internal validity
