IV fluids, long term medications, anesthesia

Rapid absorption of medications, sedation or pain relief
Where can you give IM injections?
Neck, pectorals, triceps, semimembranosus/tendonosus

Purpose of fecal collection?
Intestinal parasite infection, sand detection, exam and culture
Purpose of urine collection.
Evaluate pH, glucose, glucose, culture, drug residues
Purpose of abdominocentasis?
To obtain a sample from the abdominal cavity for chemical, microscopic and cellular evaluation
Contraindications of an abdominocentesis?
Sand impacting, late gestation or pregnant animals, extreme abdominal pain
Purpose of thoracoentasis?
Obtain a sample, remove pleural effusion
What is a nasogastric tube used for?
Administer water, mineral oil, remove stomach fluid, provide nutrients
