No spacer
1. Remove mouthpiece cover
2. Place mouthpiece in mouth and push down on the canister while taking a breath

With spacer

1. Attach inhaler to end of spacer
2. Push down on canister to dispense one puff into the spacer
3. Direct patient to take 6 normal breaths using the mouthpiece
4. No more thanks 3 doses over an hour 20 minutes apart

Explain and demonstrate the use of the salbutamol nebulisers

1. Attach the nebuliser mask to the o2 bottle
2. Unscrew the nebuliser mask chamber
3. Break off plastic ampule: 1 for under 12 years- 2 for 12yrs over
4. Squeeze liquid into chamber
5. Turn o2 onto hi flow 4LPM
6. Mist will appear- dosage complete when no mist
7. No more than 3 doses over an hour- 20 mins apart

What should be considered when administering nebulisers

1. Some pax may find mask suffocating
   - hold mask slightly away to ensure mist is inhaled
