What is Overhaul?
A
A systematic process intended to ensure that the fire is completely out and takes place as soon as the latter stages of fire control have been reached.
Helps to return the scene of the fire to normality:
* Mopping up so as to prevent re-ignition
* Locating and cooling any hidden hotspots
* Making the area safe for authorised entry (e.g. by fire investigators)
* Protecting and preserving the incident scene for investigation
* Helping secure the scene and/or its contents against further loss
