Drum construction (not lid)
- Polyethylene 5mm, orange, cylindrical
- 50L and 300L
- contain drums 30L and 205L
- moulded grooves for tightening
- has a shoulder 550mm from base
- 2x liner bags 2x zip ties
Lid construction
- screw thread
- foam rubber seal on inner base to ensure water tight
- moulded grooves to assist in tight

Operation #1
Unscrew lid
- unscrew anti clockwise, place thread side up
- lid should be loosened prior to entering spill area
Operation 2
Encapsulate HAZMAT
- place hazmat on lid, cover with drum liner bag
- place body on lid, and thread clockwise
- consider using hazmat tape to enhance seal
- use absorbent if dealing with liquids, consult scientific
Operation 3
Prepare for transport
- Complete info on hazmat tape
- mark the word salvage on drum
- SDS should be supplier to transporter
- store upright
Visual tests
Into service, monthly
- damage, threads
- interior crew from residue or moisture
Operational tests
6 monthly
- fill with water, invert for 5 mins
- check for leaks
- stand upright and dry thoroughly
