Salts Flashcards

1
Q

How to carry out a titration

A

Add 25cm3 of Alkali using a pipette along with two or three drops of indicator

Fill burette with the acid below eye level

add the acid to the alkali slowly whilst swirling

Stop when the Colour change has just occurred

Record volume of acid used to neutralize the alkali

Q

Describe process of crystallising soluble solid

A

-Heat the solid in an evaporating basin
-Stop heating when crystals begin forming on a glass rod
-Leave crystals to form for a few days
-Filter out crystals
