Sales Skills Flashcards

Q

When calling a prospect, is it a good practice to say “Can I disturb you?

A

Saying “may I take a moment?”, “can I disturb you” or “can I take your time to…?” unconsciously allows the receiver to refuse your call - or worse, to answer you “No!”

You are not disturbing anyone. You are offering a much-needed solution.

Q

Who’s a gatekeeper?

A

Gatekeepers — who are typically executive assistants, receptionists, or office managers — are the people who stand between you and the decision-maker with whom you’re hoping to make a sale.

Q

If a customer tells you their current system is too slow, how could you respond?

A

Try to uncover more about the impact it has on their day.

‘How much time does it take up?’
‘What else could you be doing in that time?’
‘What impact does that have on your business?’
