Denatured alcohol
A
Denatured alcohol regulations 2005. A smelling agent, foul tasting agent and analytical marker is added to prevent DA’s from being drinkable. This doesn’t alter the chemical composition.

CDA- Completely denatured alcohol
A
Per 100 parts: 3 parts are isopropyl alcohol (chemical analytical marker), 3 parts methyl ethyl ketone (smelling agent), 1g denatonium benzoate (tasting agent). Used in heating, lighting, cleaning.

IDA- Industrial denatured alcohol
A
Per 100 parts: 95 parts alcohol and 5 parts wood naphtha. Uses are industrial and scientific purposes. Also used in photography to clean lenses. HMRC must authorise supply of IDA but not for CDA
