Sympathomimetic, mainly effects B2 receptors = bronchodilation

MDI- 100microg/puff
Neb - 2.5mg/ 2.5ml or 5mg/2.5ml

A
Suspected hyperlalaemia with QRS widening
Bronchospasm

Allergy/ ADR
Patients < 1 year

A
Anxiety.
Tachyarrhythmias.
Tremors
Hypokalaemia

Dosage for salbutamol
A
Hyperkalaemia:
Neb - 20mg (20ml) single dose only
Bronchospasm:
MDI - 12 x puff (100microg) repeat 10 mins no max
Neb - 5mg, repeat prn , no max
