Indications of fentanyl
A
- Significant pain.
- Autonomic dyslexia (systolic >160)
- sedation.
- for rapid intubation.

Contraindications/ precautions of fentanyl
A
C- Allergy/ ADR.
P- reduced dosage in low body weight or frail people. Hypotension. Respiratory tract burns. Respiratory depression / failure. Known addiction.

Side effects of fentanyl
A
- drowsiness.
- pin point pupils.
- bradycardia.
- hypotension.
- nausea / vomiting.
- Respiratory depression.
- muscular ridgity.

Dosages for fentanyl.
A
Significant pain:
IM/IV/NAS:
> 70 = 25-50microg, every 10 mins, max dose 100microgs.
< 70 = 50-100microgs every 10 mins, max dose 200microgs.
