Wrong way of sitting during khutbah?

A

during khutbah, the Prophet forbade ihtiba (tucking in legs and wrapping arms around), and al-Albani mentioned that it causes tiredness. There is a hadith that if one is tired during the khutbah, let him change place

Q

Ruling on adding to the takbir?

A

This is an innovation, but the scholars are unanimous that if the takbir was established, it doesn’t affect the validity of the prayer to add to the takbir.

Q

Ruling on one who cannot recite fatiha properly?
Ruling on the one who cannot memorise fatiha before the time for Salah comes? Evidence?

A

He must try to learn as much as he can, and for what he cannot do, Allah does not burden him beyond his capacity.
He should recite …
سبحان الله والحمد لله ولا إله إلا الله والله أكبر ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
… When he prays, in place of fatiha. This is because a man came to the prophet, saying that he cannot learn anything of the quran and asked for something to suffice him, and the prophet ordered him with this dhikr.

Q

Responsibilities of Imam

A

The Prophet said “the imam is liable”
IslamQA says this means that the Imam must make sure the prayer is valid, that he keeps count of the rakahs and doesn’t omit any sunnahs, and that he makes dua for those behind him during qunoot.

Q

What if I forget a pillar?

A

If you remember before reaching that pillar in next rakah, go back and continue from there, then prostrate sahu after salam.
If you remember afterwards, the next rakah takes place of the previous one, and the imperfect rakah is made up after final rakah, and prostrate sahu after salam.

Q

What if Imam prays extra rakah?
And what if im a late-comer?

A

He must be alerted. If he doesnt sit back down, those behind should remain seated and recite tashahhud. Then they can give salam by themselves or wait for Imam.
As for the late-comer, he follows the Imam in the extra rakah, as its valid for him.

17
Q

Should the Imam always be followed in his prostration of sahu?

A

Yes, unless you are a late-comer.

18
Q

How is prostration of sahu for the one who makes 2 mistakes? As for 3+?

A

If both indicate prostration before salam, do so. Likewise after. If both, before salam.
As for 3+, Uthaymeen said that whatever occurred more, follow that, but IslamQA holds that the prostration is before salam regardless.

19
Q

if I forget a pillar in last rakah and remember after salah, how is it made up?

A

Imam Ahmed and Bin Baz say that the entire rakah is made up for.
Imam Shafii and Uthaymeen say that it begins from the missed pillar.

20
Q

What if I accidentally do prostration of sahu without reason and realise before I complete it?

A

Bin baz was asked. He hesitated and said that an imam should finish the prostration so as to not confuse those praying behind him.

21
Q

Should i prostrate sahu if I am always in doubt?

A

Sheikh Uthaymeen said no, because it leads to wiswas.

22
Q

What if I forget to prostrate sahu?

A

Imam Ahmed and Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah say that it is made up for even if he leaves the mosque, speaks or a long time passes.
Others say otherwise.

23
Q

What if I accidentally didn’t face the exact direction of qibla?

A

Sheikh uthaymeen said that For the one who cannot see the kaaba, they are just required to face the general direction, so it doesnt matter if they are slightly off.

24
Q

What if I accidentally prayed facing a completely different direction from the qibla?

A

If the qibla is south and you faced west, this is invalid unless your action was based on someone you believed had more knowledge of the direction.

25
Q

What if I am late-comer and Imam makes mistake after I join?

A

If Imam prostrates before salam, you prostrate (to follow Imam), complete prayer then prostrate (for Imam’s sahu).
If Imam prostrates after salam, continue praying and prostrate after salam

26
Q

What if I am a late-comer and the Imam made a mistake before I joined?

A

If Imam prostrates before salam, follow him and then complete prayer.
If Imam prostrates after salam, continue your prayer.

27
Q

What if I forget a wajib (not pillar) and I am behind the Imam?

A

This is covered by Imam.

28
Q

What if I forget a pillar behind the imam?

A

After Imam gives salam, stand to complete a rakah to make up for the one you fell short in, say salam then prostrate for sahu.

29
Q

What if I am a late-comer and make a mistake behind Imam?

A

After Imam says salam, continue praying and prostrate for sahu either before/after salam.

30
Q

What if I miss a pillar and realise after salah?

A

The scholars of the Standing Committee said: if an imam misses a verse of fatiha, if he realises soon after, he makes up the rakah and prostrates for sahu. If a long time passes, he repeats the prayer

31

Do i prostate for sahu if i forget a sunnah?

No, unless he cannot get on the ground in time to pray before the time ends.

35
Q

What if I forget to purify myself before praying?

A

Ibn Taymiyyah said that he must repeat the prayer, by ijmaa

36
Q

What if my awrah accidentally shows in prayer?

A

If its small, its valid even for a long time
If its big, its valid if covered immediately, even if the entire awrah was exposed.
If covering awrah involves lots of movement, the prayer is invalid.
