Who was he
St. Paul the Apostle one of the leaders of the first generation of Christians, considered to be the most important person after Jesus in the history of Christianity.
Where did his conversion take place
Saul’s conversion occurred when he was on his way to the city of Damascus
Why did he convert
they were suddenly surrounded by a light so bright that it knocked Saul to the ground. They heard a voice from heaven that said: ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?’ And Saul said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting; but rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.’ The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.
What did he do before his conversion
He hunted them down and dragged them out of their homes, imprisoning them and even having them killed.
His journeys, what were they
10,000 miles proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. His journeys on land and sea took him primarily through present day Israel, Syria, Turkey, and Greece. 46 - 57
His impact
By spreading the story of Jesus Christ through his travels and letters, St Paul gave Jews and Gentiles a way forward. His teachings about love of God and neighbour challenged the followers of Jesus to follow the command of love over the law.
