Being free from harm or risk and secure from threats or danger.
Name 6 guidelines while working with or around electricity.
- Never use electrical devices near water.
- Always dry your hands before using electrical equipment.
- Never use extension cords or outlet expanders.
- If you’re not currently using a device, turn it off.
- Report any electrical shock from a device to your supervisor. Device should not be used again until it is repaired.
- Never try to repair an electrical device yourself.

What are material safety data sheets?
A record all facilities must use to show every chemical used in the facility, the substance’s chemical contents, fire and health hazards, clean up procedures,disposal requirements, etc.
What do you do if you find a container without a label?
Take it to the charge nurse immediately.
What do you if you or a resident inhales a chemical?
Get into fresh air as soon as possible
What do you do if you or a resident gets a chemical on their skin?
Rinse it off with lots of running water.
What do you do if you or a resident swallows a chemical?
Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse out mouth.
What do you do if a chemical gets in your eyes?
Immediately flush your eyes with cool running water for at least five minutes. Remove contact lenses. Continue for at least 15 minutes, holding the eyelids open to ensure the entire eye is rinsed.
