dark: may not be able to see further than 400ft haead
rain: you may not be able to see more than 200 ft ahead
hills: you don’t know whats coming up, adjust speed so you can stop
parked vehicles: give them room!
what is the four second sight distance rule?
pick an object as far away as you can see. start counting to 4. if you get there before four, you need to slow down
how do you know if you’re too close to a person haead of you?
on a highway, watch the other car reach some object, count how long it takes you to get there, if longer than 4, slow down
in city, 2 or 3 seconds is enough
