Is insurance required? how much for one person in collision? two? just damage to the car?
You must have an automobile liability policy or bond
from a state-approved insurance or surety company that provides the following:
- $25,000 or more, payable for the bodily injury or death of one person in a collision in which only one person was injured or killed;
- $50,000 or more, payable for the bodily injury or death of two or more persons in any one collision; and
- $10,000 or more, payable for injury to or destruction of property of others in any one collision.
check the vehicle
braking system - if not working right, making noise, semll, or brake pedal goes to floor, fix it
lights - turn signals, brake lights, tail lights, headlights operating, check from outside.
tires - unbalanced or low pressure are bad. penny should come to lincoln’s head if inserted in tire
clean windows - which ones in which conditions?
keep it clean always, carry some cleaner with you, clear frost FROM ALL WINDOWS before driving, don’t hang things from rearview mirr
how should you adjust your seat and mirrors?
adjust seat to see road (high enough), far enough to steer easy, sit so air bag will hit you in chest, sit so you can touch brake pedal
mirrors - you should see out the back window with rear view, side mirrors so you can see small amount of side of vehicle when you lean forward slightly
seat belts and child restraints
everyone seatbelted, all doors locked
