SAD Diagnostic criteria
- At least 3 symptoms
- Last 4 weeks in children
- excessive worry about separation from attachment figures
SAD Symptoms
Distress when separated from parent
Worries about kidnapping or getting lost
Reluctance or refusal to go to school
AGORAPHOBIA Diagnostic criteria
Symptoms lasting 6 months or more Marked fear or anxiety about 2 or more of the following: • Using public transportation • Being in open spaces • Being in enclosed spaces • Standing in line • Being in a crowd • Being outside the home
AGORAPHOBIA Symptoms
Fear about 2 or more public places
fear that they won’t be able to escape
Intense fear
SPECIFIC PHOBIA Diagnostic criteria
- Avoidant behavior
- Fear caused by the presence of a specific object or situation
- Lasts 6 months or more
SPECIFIC PHOBIA Symptoms
*Avoidant behavior of specific objects/situations
* Exposure causes an immediate anxiety response: • Crying • Tantrums • Freezing • Clinging
PANIC DISORDER Diagnostic criteria
- 4 or more symptoms
- At least 1 panic attack has been followed by 1 month of worries about:
1. Persistent concern about
having additional attacks
PANIC DISORDER Symptoms
Palpitations Pounding heart Sweating Trembling or shaking Shortness of breath Feeling of choking Chest pain or discomfort Nausea or abdominal distress Feeling dizzy, lightheaded, etc.
OCD Diagnostic Criteria
Presence of obsessions, compulsions, or both
• Obsessions:
o (1) Persistent thoughts that cause anxiety or stress
• Compulsions:
o (1) Repetitive behavior (e.g., hand washing, ordering, checking)
o Time consuming (>1 hour per day)
OCD Symptoms
Fear and worries about certain things like dirt or germs
Extreme fears that something bad will happen
