Generalized Anxiety Diagnostic Criteria (GAD)
A
- “Excessive” anxiety and worry
- 6 months
- At least 1 of the following:
- Being easily fatigued
- Irritability
- Mind going blank

GAD Symptoms
A
- Having difficulty concentrating; mind going blank 2. Being irritable 3. Difficulty controlling feelings of worry.

Anxiety Prevalence
A
- 6-20%
- More likely for girls than boys, except for OCD
- lifelong

Etiology
A
- Higher risk for those in higher SES
2 Causes: Temperament, Family factors Genetics
- High comorbidity with other anxiety disorders & w/ depression

CBT: Physical Arousal–> Cognitive Restructuring –> Exposure
- Coping Cat
- Questionnaires
