Bilateral sacral flexion
A
- Abduct the legs and internally rotate until you feel motion in teh joint
- Place hand on the apex of the sacrum
- have the patient breathe
- Apply the motion n inhialation and resist with exhalation
- Recheck

Bilateral sacral extension
A
- Monitor the joint; abduct the leg
- Have the patient assume the TV watching position
- Externally rotate the patients leg
- Place hand on the heel of the sacral base
- Have the patient breathe and apply a force on exhalation
- recheck

Unilateral sacral flexion
A
- Abduct the leg and internally rotate the AFFECTED side
- Place hand on the affected ILA
- Encourage the force on inhalation
- Recheck

Unilateral sacral extension
A
- Abduct the leg
- Have the patient assume the TV watching position
- Externally rotate the leg
- Place heel of hand on the sacral base and engage a barrier with exhalation
- recheck

Forward torsion (L/L or R/R)
A
- Place the patient with the axis side down and chest ON the table; flex the hips and knees to chest 90 degrees with legs hanging off of the side
- Patient inhales and exhales deeply 3 times reaching with the hand opposite of the axis
- Rest knees on your thigh
- Push patients feet toward the ground until side bending barrier is reached
- have the patient lift their feet upwards towards the ceiling for 3-5 seconds
- Repeat MET

Backward torsion (R/L or R/R)
A
- Pt is on the edge of the table with axis side DOWN and chest pointing up
- Have patient take 2-3 breaths and reach back with arm
- Bring the patients top leg over and off of the table, apply a gentle force and have the patient push up into the ceiling
- Continue to move patient into the barrier
- Recheck
