What is the maximum demonstrated crosswind velocity for the C150?
13 Knots.
What is the After Takeoff Checklist (400ft) for the C150?
Flaps…………..UP
Engine Instruments…………….CHECK - IN THE GREEN
What is the flap setting and approach speed for a Short Field Landing in the C150?
Flaps 40° at 52 Knots (60 Mph).
What is the Short Field Takeoff procedure in a C150?
Wing Flaps………0° (if obstacles) & 10° (no obstacles)
Carb. Heat……….COLD
Brakes……….APPLY
Throttle………FULL OPEN (check engine instruments in green and good static RPM)
Brakes……….RELEASE
Elevator Control……..SLIGHTLY TAIL LOW
Climb Speed……..60 K (with obstacles ahead)
What is the Cruise checklist for the C150?
Power……………………………. SET
Carb. Heat … CHECK EVERY 3 MINS
Mixture ………..LEAN AS REQRD
Landing Light ………….. AS RQRD
DG…………………………… ADJUST
How do you perform a crosswind take off in the C150?
Hold appropriate crosswind controls while on the runway and slowly move the controls back towards neutral as speed increases. Accelerate the plane to a speed slightly higher than normal and pull up abruptly to avoid settling back to the runway while drifting. When clear of ground, make a coordinated turn into the wind to correct for drift.
What is the Short Field Landing procedure in a C150?
Airspeed………….60 - 70 K (FLAPS UP)
Flaps………………..40°
Airspeed………….52 K
Power……………REDUCE to idle as obstacle is cleared
Touchdown………….MAIN WHEELS FIRST
Brakes…………..APPLY HEAVILY
Flaps………….RETRACT
What percentage of engine power does the carburetor heat use on the C150?
Approximately 9%.
