- fecolith can be seen on AXR in 50% of cases (AXR considered not useful however)
- us: >6mm in diameter, thickened, noncompressible, modality of choice in pregnant pts and children
- CT: 96%Sn
- us: 86%Sn
- note: non-contrast CT is an acceptable method for diagnosis and obtains faster imaging

A
- simple, adult: cefoxitin /or moxi or/ flagyl plus cefuroxime/cefazolin/cipro/levo
- simple, child: cefoxitin /or genta plus flagyl/clinda
- complicated: imipenem, mero, moxi, pip-taz OR flagyl plus aztreonam/cefepime/cipro/levo
