What is the definition of Russification?
A
- Forcing Everyone within The Russian Empire to think of themselves as Russian, by enforcing the Russian language and culture.

- Alexander III and Pobedonostsev
- they thought merging all the tsar’s land into a single nation with a feeling of shared identity
- he wanted more control and protection

A
- destruction of non- Russian national cultures - Poland + Finland- weakened their political influence
- independent postal service abolished
- any attempt to convert to another faith would follow with exile to Serbia.

- Russian customs enforced on non- Russians - Russian language was the only language the Orthodox Church would speak in
