What was the 1905 Revolution about?

A

The Revolution of 1905 was a wave of mass political and social unrest that spread through vast areas of the Russian Empire. Some of it was directed against the government, while some was undirected. It included worker strikes, peasant unrest, and military mutinies. It led to the establishment of limited constitutional monarchy, the State Duma of the Russian Empire, the multi-party system, and the Russian Constitution of 1906.

What was the Impact of WW1 on Russia Society?

A

The rise of communism, the fall of the empire, the rise of Stalin, death of lenin, Russia began to modernize though they were still considered a second rate nation until the end of WW2. Millions died in russia from famine. The royal family was executed. And we start to see a major expansion into the far east into siberia and abroad.

What was the February Revolution ?

A

The February Revolution is a revolution against the last tsar. Since Rasputin had affair with Czarina and Russia had corrupted after WWI. The peasants started the rebellion. This rebellion was huge because it was spontaneous. Since the gap between peasants and poor was higher the peasants startred the rebellion in front of the white palace. The soldiers and guard killed many peasants, however the nationalism grew stronger and more peasants and even some elites was complaining to the tsar. And soon after later even the soldiers started rebelling. As a result, the tsar’s family got assassinated.
by the way, some people even say march revolution. Because February was the Russian old calender. Russia was so old that they day was 8-9 days slower than the rest of the Europe.

What was Bolshevik Leadership: October Revolution in 1917 ?

A

Leon Trotsky’s red army took over the winter palace and arrested Kerensky and the provisional government. Russia was controlled by Lenin and the Bolsheviks, who renamed themselves the communist party.

What Were the Results of the Russian Revolution?

Economic Causes
1) Tsar’s management 2)Tremendous economic strains of WWI on society 3) Many men joined army that there were insufficient numbers to run factories/farms, which led to widespread shortages of food, and working conditions deteriorated so badly that workers rioted and engaged in strikes to get better wages.
Political causes
1) Dire economic situation was faced by urban workers, health and safety conditions dismal 2) Upper classes and educated resented Tsar Nicholas’ autocracy 3) Perception of government decadence and ineptness affected each level of society who saw Romanov regime as corrupt.
Social causes
1) Continuance of popular opposition to Tsar and his policies due to discontent of peasants, worker, and minorities 2) Centuries of oppression towards lower classes, feelings of being second class subjects.
