A

Any employee who deliberately refuses or fails to obey any lawful order given by a superior officer/supervisor or who engages in mutinous conduct such as showing gross and direct disrespect to a superior officer/supervisor shall be guilty of insubordination and in violation of this regulation may be released from duty as outlined in the Civil Service Code and City Policy and Procedures Manual.

A

Employees knowing of other employees violating laws, ordinances, or rules of the Department, or disobeying orders, shall report the same in writing to the Chief of Police through official channels. If the reporting employee is on a regular day off, he or she shall report the violation no later than the end of his or her next official tour of duty. If the reporting employee is in any other status, for example, vacation, suspension, he or she shall contact any supervisor, manager, or Internal Affairs as soon as possible.
