Rules and Reactions Flashcards
1
Q
Precipitation Reactions
A
- A precipitation reaction is one in which substances in solution are mixed and an insoluble product is made.
- The insoluble product is called a precipitate and can be seen as a solid forming in the reaction mixture.
2
Q
Solubility Rules
A
- If the substance is soluble then no precipitate (Solid) will form.
- If the substance is insoluble then a precipitate (Solid) will be formed.
3
Q
Neutralisation
A
- A chemical reaction in which acid and a base react quantitatively with each other.
