What are the clinical presentations of rubella?
A
- Constitutional symptoms
- Malaise, headache, fever, conjunc, cough & lymphadenopathy
- Forschheimer’s spots
- Rubella rash - small maculopapular lesions from face to trunk & extremeties

What are the 4 complications of rubella?
A
- Arthralgia (joint pain)
- Encephalitis
- Purpura
- Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) - teratogenic to foetus but risk of embryopathy decreases with every month of pregnancy
